“潮”的英语可不是Fashion，别被人取笑了！

“WOW！你今天好‘Fashion’！”

假如有谁光鲜亮丽地走进办公室，你觉得TA很潮，所以说了这么一句话，那就恭喜你中枪了。

有多少人以为“潮”的英语单词就是“Fashion”？甚至会用英语说：

“You are very fashion!”（错误范例）

这么说只会让人觉得你英语好差……

“潮”在汉语口语中属于形容词，比如我们常说的“你很潮”。

那么这样的说法对应在英语里也应当用形容词表示。然而Fashion却没有形容词的用法，作为名词它只能指“潮流”或“时尚”。要形容一个人很“潮”，必须得使用其形容词变体，即：

Fashionable

所以正确的说法应该是：

“You are very fashionable!”

（你很潮哦！）

假如你想说“你是一个潮人”，说“fashionable person”也是有些拗口的，因为有另外专门的名词描述潮人：

Fashionista / hipster

范例：You are a fashionista / hipster!

（你是个潮人哦！）

不过，在潮流和时尚的世界里，改变永远是最潮的东西。所以，假如你只会用fashionable这一个单词来描述“潮”，那么就会显得你很OUT。所以，要学会这么几个可以代替的单词：

stylish-attractive in a fashionable way（有型）

例句：Your boyfriend is quite stylish.

（你男朋友特别有型）

trendy-influenced by the most fashionable styles and ideas（新潮）

例句：I enjoyed being able to go out and buy trendy clothes.

（我特别享受出去溜达然后剁手买新潮的衣服）

chic-very fashionable and expensive, and showing good judgment of what is attractive and good style（时髦）

例句：You are looking very chic in blue.

（你穿蓝色看着特别时髦）

in-relating to persons, places, and things that are declared fashonable and acceptable at the time.（潮流）

例句：Pinkis definitely the in colour this year.

（今年的潮流无疑是粉色）

上述7个单词，哪怕会用一半，你都能变身成真正的潮流达人。不过假如你还不满足，想必一般人变得更潮，那办法还是有的。
